Student Learning & Engagement

Academic Year Program
During the fall and winter semesters, all TRIO/SSS students will meet and discuss a plan of work with their assigned TRIO SSS counselor. Each student must select a full-time status program of 12 or more credit hours. Courses are chosen from the TRIO First Year Program Schedule of Classes in conjunction with the desired student major.

Mentor Program
The Student Support Mentor Program offered through TRIO/SSS gives academic, social, and personal support for students to succeed during the first year at Wayne State University. Interested students are paired with mentors who are alumni or upper class students.
