What is TRIO Student Support Services

TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program established through the Higher Education Amendments of 1968. The purpose of the Higher Education Act of 1965 was to strengthen the educational resources of US colleges and universities by providing financial assistance to students in post-secondary and higher education. In following that directive, TRIO Student Support Services was designed to help low-income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities gain access to higher education and graduate from college.
