James Eric Moore Endowed Scholarship Fund for Detroit High School Students

This scholarship is provided to students who have graduated from Detroit Public High Schools and are currently enrolled in ACCESS Programs at Wayne State University. It is awarded to students who are beginning their Junior Year at Wayne State University and demonstrate scholastic potential, leadership qualities, and financial need.

Wade H. McCree Tuition and Book Award

The Wade H. McCree Tuition and Book Award, formally known as the Book and Tuition Award is offered primarily to high school seniors who have participated in the Higher Education Opportunities Committee/Talent Search Program. However, participants in other Wayne State University ACCESS Programs are also eligible. Although a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is highly desirable, awards are also considered for students with slightly lower GPAs who demonstrate potential and determination for scholastic achievement. Award recipients must provide proof of acceptance and enrollment in a postsecondary institution.

This scholarship is provided to graduates of Detroit Public High Schools who are full-time students and have completed a Wayne State University ACCESS program. Recipients are selected based upon financial need, character, scholastic potential, and leadership abilities.

Berry and Bertha Gordy Endowed Scholar Award

The Berry and Bertha Gordy Endowed Scholar Award is given to college sophomores and juniors who were admitted to Wayne State University through the Project 350 Program. Applicants must have met the low-income criteria at time of admission to Project 350, have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 at time of application, and demonstrate financial need, resourcefulness, and leadership abilities. Scholarship winners must enroll as full-time students at Wayne State University during the period of the award.
