Faculty Mentors

Mentoring is a vital component of the Wayne State McNair Program and a good faculty mentor is essential for McNair Scholars.  Faculty mentors provide McNair Scholars advice and guidance on planning their research and academic program, developing research skills and preparing for admission into and successful completion of a doctoral degree.

Below you will find a list of previous McNair Scholar mentors representing various departmental affiliations to support the wide-range of McNair Scholars' research interests.  If you are considering becoming a McNair Scholar, you should not think your mentor need come from this list, but should be encouraged by the number of willing mentors.  If you are a faculty member considering a McNair mentorship, you should note that some of the mentors listed have worked with more than one McNair Scholar over the course of the program's history as testament to the level of satisfaction McNair mentee's provide.
